Ripples: Water, Community, and You
This exhibit, created with contributions from Scott Schulte, Ian Fannin-Hughes, and partners from the Heartland Conservation Alliance, will be on display at the Johnson County Museum for several months.
Building on their previous Redlining exhibit, Ripples examines the history and impact of water in our region. It highlights decisions like Johnson County’s 1970s choice to abandon plans for reservoirs on the Blue River—meant to reduce flooding but rejected to protect economic development land. Had the reservoirs been built, Edwards Campus wouldn’t exist, as the lake would be just down the hill north of campus.
The exhibit invites you to explore how our evolving relationship with water shapes ecosystems, communities, and future generations.
